Founding 50: Why Early Adopters Are Locking In AI Standards Now
Fifty schools will shape the first AI governance standard for UK independent schools. Here's why they're moving now.
Fifty schools will shape the first AI governance standard for UK independent schools. Here’s why they’re moving now — and why waiting might cost more than the subscription.
What the Founding 50 is
The Founding 50 is a cohort of schools adopting the Pedagogue Standard before general availability. These schools get:
- A locked rate: £4,995/year for two years (versus £8,000 standard)
- Input into the standard as it develops
- Recognition as founding adopters
The cohort closes on 5 June 2026.
Why schools are joining now
We’ve asked every school that’s committed why they’re moving before general availability. Three answers keep coming up:
- The governance pressure is real. Governors are asking about AI. ISI is asking. Parents are asking. These schools want an answer they can defend — not a promise to work on it.
- First-mover positioning matters. Being among the first 50 schools to adopt a recognised AI standard is a positioning advantage. It signals leadership to parents, prospective families, and the wider sector.
- The economics make sense. £4,995 locked for two years versus £8,000 standard rate is £6,000 saved. For schools that know they need this eventually, earlier is cheaper.
What happens after 50
Once the Founding 50 is full:
- The founding rate closes permanently
- New schools join at the standard rate (£8,000/year)
- Founding schools keep their rate locked for two years
This isn’t artificial scarcity. It’s a genuine cohort model — schools that help shape the standard get a better rate.
Is it right for your school?
The Founding 50 is right for schools that:
- Know AI governance needs to be addressed in 2026
- Want to be seen as leaders, not followers
- Prefer to lock in a rate now rather than pay more later
If that’s you, the window is open. It won’t be for long.
Founding 50 places are limited. See the Founding 50 offer.
